The production area for balsamic vinegar from Modena traditionally falls within the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia. These are areas with a typical continental climate: cold winters, hot and humid summers, mild springs, and autumn. All characteristics that decisively influence the maturation and aging process of balsamic vinegar.
Balsamic vinegar has a powerful antioxidant effect. Its high content of polyphenols and bioflavonoids (already present in grapes) helps fight free radicals, strengthens the immune system, and promotes longevity and overall well-being.
IGP
The term Protected Geographical Indication, better known by its acronym IGP, refers to a mark of origin assigned by the European Union to agricultural and food products for which a particular quality, reputation, or other characteristic depends on their geographical origin. At least one of the production, transformation, and/or processing phases must take place in a specific geographical area.
